Well, I'm much closer to being done with my Dahlia watercolor then I was in the last post. I've been working quite a bit on it and as you can see, it's almost there. I still have some white areas to base in and more shading and highlighting to do. Even after that though, I'm still not quite done. There are areas I want to go back to and rework or fix, things I'm not quite happy with need to be redone. I'll also decide what areas on the Dahlia I really want to highlight and at that time, I'll go back and outline certain petals or add some strong white to some of the areas to make them pop. But the next photo I post will show the finished painting. It will be finished, sprayed with a protective coating and called complete.

Sooooo beautiful! My favorite subject to paint is flowers, yet I've never done a dahlia before. I LOVE the colors you've used!
Hi Lynn, Louise & NG..thanks. I'll be happy when it is done though, I'm enjoying it very much but looking forward to getting it completed. Plus I'm already thinking about what I want to do next. : )
This is very ALIVE looking! I can't wait to see it when you have finished!

I'm really liking your watercolor. It's nice to see it "in progress". Thanks for the nice comment. Stephanie
Oh, I LOVE Dahlia's.. I can't wait to see the finished product!
Your water color is BEAUTIFUL!! Even if it's not finished yet, great fun seeing the progression of it! I have enjoyed catching up on your blog!! And the Emu egg, what a creative imagination turning it into a jewlery box ...wow!
Have a great weekend!
Catherine
Thanks Lynda, Stephanie, Jenn & Catherine. Blogging about watercolors in progress really helps me determine what I've been doing and what still needs to be done. Glad you've enjoyed following along as well.
Mark, you are so right, I do spend a lot of time in life looking at other peoples doorways. Hmm, I also like to look through windows, although, not for any nasty reasons but I do like to see how people decorate. You can see so much of a room by looking through a window at just the right time of evening. You are right tho, I better get back on the stick and keep watercoloring. : )
Your Dahlia is looking great and I am looking forward to seeing it when it is finished.
Thanks kate.
Its always fun to find another painter's blog! I enjoyed your dahlia.
