A Great Getaway

Our weekend at Mohonk was tremendous fun and we came back very relaxed and ready to to tackle the week. Above is a photo of the mountain house from one of the hiking trails we were walking on.

We were in one of the towers and had windows all over our room. We also had a very nice sitting area with a couch, 2 chairs and a center table. The plants in the corner were from my raid on the Mohonk greenhouse.

The other half of our room, along with my husband and some various luggage pieces.

I believe that most of the rooms there have fireplaces. It was a bit too warm to run ours but it is pretty none the less.

The parlor where 365 days a year, tea & cookies are served at 4-5pm. Unfortunately their tea is never hot enough for me. When I drink a hot beverage, I expect it to be hot, not luck warm or cold. I suspect though that thanks to the McDonald's lawsuit all those years ago, with the scalding coffee, it has made it hard to get really piping hot tea at Mohonk. It is so pretty here though, I can deal with warm tea for a couple of days.

Lots of different paths and hiking trails to follow as you wind around into the woods.

The lake right before dark. I took over 200 photos on our two day trip so I'll be spreading them out a bit because there are just too many to show all at once. I feel like I've come home full of creativity and inspiration from our trip.

Thanks Ladies, it was so much fun, I cannot even tell you. I always come back from there full of creative energy and happines.. I take every opportunity to go too..if my husband is playing a gig there, I tag along for a few hours. Sometimes we go for dinner and a hike or just hiking..it is such a happy place.

Sure Linda, you can come with me next time..if you can fit into my duffle bag, there shouldn't be a problem. : )

Lynda, I was clicking all kinds of photos while I was there..it is amazing how many pictures you can take there. When I shot that last one, I thought..this one stinks, it's no good and will have to be erased. My hubby looked at them and told me he loved the last one and that I shouldn't erase it..go figure. I guess it does reflect the time of day that it was...I like that one too now. It has rubbed off on me.

I think it would be pretty hard to have a bad trip to Mohonk Manuela. It's true too, this is the best room we've ever had on any of our stays there.
