Zion National Park - Utah

The second stop on my whirlwind tour of the west, right after the Grand Canyon was gorgeous Zion National Park in Utah.

The scenery as you can see, is just breathtaking and I was able to come away from this portion of the trip with more fabulous photos of this incredible place. Very hard to take a bad picture here, too much beauty all around to fail in the photography area.

There was this wonderful little bus that took visitors all around the park. You could get off wherever you wanted, hike, walk around on the trails, take photos etc... A new shuttle bus would be around every 15mins of so to pick you up and you could continue on the drive thru journey and once again, get off at any stops that interested you. If you decided not to do too much walking at Zion, the bus tour was 90 mins from start to finish without getting off.

Really, not a lot of commentary is needed for these photos, I think the beauty of the area speaks for itself.

That is me, standing on a bridge.

We found this gorgeous waterfall while we were there and my friend and I ran underneath it to take these photos.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of some of the beautiful nature we saw while visiting Zion National Park. It was among my favorite places on this trip. If you want to see any of the images larger, just click to see a bigger version.

Hi Ruth,
Your photos are beautiful. The close up of the rocks in the waterfall is truly an inspiration for a painting based on the colors in nature. I see lots of lavender in the rocks.
Have a painterly week.

Zion is a beautiful park ...there are so many National Parks here in Utah. I'm so glad that you were able to visit and see Zion. Were you able to visit Bryce Canyon ...that's another spectacular work of nature.

Wow! Those are some jaw-dropping vistas. I can't imagine what they'd be like in person. I'd be willing to bet some of those images find their way into your artwork somehow. I wanted to say thanks so much for your thoughtful comments on my last post. I am still "sorting" in my spirit over the artwork, but in a peaceful way. Like you, I can't help but do the artwork - whether I get paid for it or not - and really I am glad about that.

Blessings,
Christi
