Fluttering Out Of My Studio.......

"Flutter" has just lifted its wings and flown from my studio. I love watching Hummingbirds in my garden each year, they seem especially drawn to my Cascade Geraniums, which I have hanging right outside my back door.

These tiny, quick moving and very graceful birds are amazing to watch and I knew I wanted to create a painting to capture the delicacy of their movements.

Flutter is a contemporary garden-scape painted on 1 1/2" deep gallery wrapped canvas.

Each canvas panel measures 6" x 8" for a total size of 8" h x 18" w. I decided to go with a black background to highlight the white/gray flowers and the Hummingbird in its full color, for what I hope lends itself to a contemporary feel.

I hope perhaps that this painting might inspire everyone to look for Hummingbirds in their own garden each year. Enjoy!!!! This acrylic painting is available in my ETSY shop:

Hi Ruth, This is just gorgeous. You captured the feel of contemporary so well by giving the Hummingbird color. I love this bird too and am always amazed when I see one in my garden. Of course I never have the camera ready.
I hope this flys out of your Ruby Lane Shop as well. Just Gorgeous.

We are on a staycation this week like you had. Doing some odd jobs around the house and taking a day trip on Friday or so. See you when I am back in the studio next week.
Have a nice and creative week too.

Hugs, Celestina Marie
p.s. had to veiw your gorgeous garden flowers post again. Everything is beautiful!! especially the face of that little sweetie!

Hi Ruth,
Hey, these three "Flutters" are great.
They look wonderful together or would look good seperated.
Amazing how pieces look on a dark background.
Keep up the good work.
Hugs,
Anna

Hi Ruth ...I love this piece. It's so simple and very elegant. I love contrast of the light and dark.

We have hummingbirds visit each year and enjoy sitting on the patio in the evening to watch them play among the setting sunlight.

Wow, love it, Ruth! Very nice.

I've been trying to take a photo of all the hummingbirds outside out back window for quite some time, but so far no luck.
