Two newly opened blooms and one bud that is about to open.....8 buds altogether that will start the blooming process from the back, forward.
You may remember about 2 months ago or so, I started charting the progress of the spike growth. This is a photo of the spike when I first noticed it, about 1/2" tall.
The following week I could see significant growth.
The spike is starting to get quite large now and is a few inches tall.
As weeks go by, the spike is growing in leaps and bounds.
At this point the spike is so tall that it needs to be staked.
This large white orchid is an unbelievable 30" tall by this point and has 8 buds that are waiting to open. This is literally the only place in the house I can grow this plant for the time being. It is so tall and the flowers are so high, that it needs to be at just the right height to be able to admire them.

Happy New Year to you all Ruth!
I'm fascinated by the blooming process of your Orchid.
I've been studying the shadows and tones on white, just beautiful!
Ruth how absolutely stunning... I am having a grand time watching the progress of your orchid blooms...
You inspired me so much that I bought a couple for myself ... thought I would give it a try again ...
It is interesting watching them grow and the blooms are amazing... I am hoping they will do well in the window I have them in ... its bright and sunny but not overly so...
