"Orb Fairy" - Acrylic Diptych On Gallery Canvas

"Orb Fairy" an acrylic diptych, is the latest piece of art to come out of my studio and my first piece of fairy art in a very long time. I really enjoyed the experience so much that I plan on creating more fairies in the future.
If you read my last post, this was the piece that I mentioned was supposed to be a garden sculpture painting. I had wanted to do a series of pieces with different garden sculptures and also fairies but had decided on sculptures first. Once again the canvas spoke to me when I was creating this painting and I realized once the sky and ground were painted, they looked too mystical and magical to not be a fairy painting so.....here we are, my first fairy in quite a while. I then had to decide what kind of fairy I was creating and focused in on glowing , floating orbs of light, some even radiating from the ends of her hair and suddenly, Orb Fairy was born.
I hope you like "Orb Fairy" as much as I enjoyed painting it.

Hi Ruth,
Thank you for the comment on my blog. I have to ask my parents the name of those flowers again. I forgot after they told me! They were beautiful in their yard so I look forward to them blooming next summer! Have a wonderful rest of the week.

Hurray for fairies! Lovely painting.

Also, OMG - have you watched Walking Dead yet? And did you see it has its own live talk show afterward?! It was neat learning more about the creator of the comic books.

Shew, I'm glad you were able to watch the premiere after all! I'm not a fan of watching episodes online, either - too often the mouths don't match the video and it drives me mad! I was on vacation this Sunday, but was thrilled that the hotel had AMC and I didn't have to wait until I got home to watch it on DVR.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen you do a fairy painting before... This is beautiful! I love how the wind is blowing through her hair, and also just her overall shape. The whole painting just flows really nicely. Great work!!
