2012 NY Botanical Garden Orchid Show

Chris and I went yesterday to the Botanical Garden Orchid Show like we do every year and really had a nice afternoon. It was cold, rainy and gray outside so the show was a cheerful and warm place to spend the afternoon on a winter's day.
The focus of this years' show was vertical gardens and I tried to get some overall shot of the displays but so many people were around getting their pictures taken under the orchids that it was a little hard this year.
I hope you enjoy the show photos....no words are really necessary, just imagine all these beauties, in a nice warm conservatory on a chilly winters day. A nice break away from it all.

I thought I recognized it. I lived very close to the gardens ... even almost got a job there many years ago. This brings up such memories and I am happy to see that it is still beautiful.

Happiness to all!

Hi Ruth, WOW your photos are amazing. Looks like no one was there but you and Chris. I bet the aroma was delightful. I love the assortment of color.
Best way to spend a cold rainy day. I'll try and send some warmer temps.
Have a great week.
Hugs, CMD
