A Haunted Halloween Pumpkin Garden

Last week we were able to take a trip to the botanical garden to see the haunted pumkin garden display that is put on each year.

We have had so many gloomy days in NY lately that is was actually shocking to get a nice enough day to head over to the city for a nice walk outside to see this really adorable halloween display.

Living in a constant haze of oppressive gloom (I know highly dramatice isn't it??  Maybe I should have been an actress) is a real damper on the artistic spirit.  I need to see the sun in my life to feel energized, I guess that is why I'm moving out of NY, so I can see the sun again.  But my weather complaints aside and believe me, I have a lot of them, this day was a lovely, mostly sunny fall day.

Some of the pumpkins are real and some are fake but all are artfully displayed and it was a lot of fun to walk through this garden last week and see how the creative minds at the garden have arranged their spooky pumpkins this year.

These were some of my favorites, scary scarecrow figures.  Really cute!!!!

This giant spider web was really adorable and very eye catching as you walk through the display.  Hope you have enjoyed the tour and have time to get out and see fun fall gardens in your own area.

Thanks so much Ruth for this post ... I never saw the BG look so spookie ... Did I tell you I went for an interview for a job there many years ago?? Hey, I hope you are prepared for Hurricane Sandy ... I can't believe this .... you're getting our weather. I know you know what to do to keep safe ... but, just in case, sending those positive energies your way. I'm so looking forward to the weather here getting in the low 70's ... yipee !!! I have to tell you the weather has changed because I don't remember New York being so dismal growing up. I remember the Autumn being just glorious .... oh those High School football games checking out all those boys ! Now, I wouldn't be interested in anyone who likes football or any kind of sports.

The pumpkin art is fantastic! I love all of them.
I hope Hurricane Sandy behaves herself when she comes for a visit. Stay safe!

Hi Ruth, What fun it must have been to walk in this halloween garden. All the displays are so cute and so creative. Glad you could get out for some sunshine and fun.
I hope you are not in the path of the storm approaching. Stay safe my friend and have a creative week ahead.
Hugs, Celestina Marie

This is so adorable Ruth!!! I would love to walk through this display. The scarecrow ones are my favorites too. So fun!!!

I know what you mean about the weather. It has been raining way too often lately! Stay safe today. The wind is wacky in my neck of the woods. Hopefully that storm is not too severe where you are. Just think...your move to the Sunshine State is not too far off!
