I am a full time artist living in Orlando Fl, with my husband and our family of 2 Shih Tzus.
Nature Scapes in acrylic are among my favorite things to paint and this blog will show the progress of my works in their different stages. Many of my paintings are created using multiple canvases to create a sculptural affect. If you have any questions you would like me to answer about my work or techniques, please let me know and I will be happy to blog about it.
I am also a busy jewelry artist and will be posting photos of finished pieces of interest.
I'll also be including lots of garden photos and other inspirational pictures along the way.
I'm lucky enough right now to have 9 of my orchids either in bloom or coming into bloom very shortly. Having beautiful orchid blooms to look forward to really does help brighten my winter days.
This particular orchid with the beautiful waxy red bloom, I had to wait for 2 years to rebloom for me when I first got it. Now that the first rebloom was accomplished, it will bloom again for me each year without any special help on my part.
I got this light stand a few years back, lovely piece of furniture and it sits in my dining room and hold many of my orchids. It comes with built in humidity trays too, which help keep all the plants happy.
Hi Ruth, Your orchids are gorgeous and I love the light table for them. It is a beautiful piece of furniture too in your dining room. What a wonderful and inspiring spot to look at each day and see your beautiful orchids. You have beauty all around and it does help the winter pass a bit better. We are warming up here and it is predicted to be 82 degrees tomorrow. Then cold again on Friday. Oh well, it is still winter.
So great to see you today and thank you for your kind comment. I did find one large shell and anxious to create with it.
Ruth .... I always look forward to your orchids blooming every year too .... they bring a bit of spring into my world ... they are so lovely and I am in awe of how you take care of them .... I have a couple ... had more but lost them ... going to try again .... I actually have had my African violets rebloom last year and this year ... so I am excited about that ... such beauties your lovely babies ... happy gardening
The orchids are beautiful Ruth! Someday, when I no longer have cats, I plan to have orchids. The blooms are so stunning they look artificial! That has always intrigued me.
