Rose Garden

I've been thinking a lot about roses these days as I have a couple of rose pieces in the works. I'm working on a rose egg jewelry box and also, I want to start a rose watercolor on masonite board this week as well.

These photos were all taken last year at the NY Botanical Garden. They have quite a gorgeous rose garden there. The top photo shows an over view of the whole rose garden.

They have benches all around so you can sit and smell the roses for a while if you want.

There are so many different varieties of roses there, the photos you can take are amazing. It is really hard to get a bad photo actually.

I hope to be posting photos of my rose jewelry box next time and I will start keeping you updated on the rose watercolor I plan to start. Until then, I hope these photos bring a bit of cheer and inspriration to your day.

Your photos are breathtaking. I could spend some serious time in this garden. My roses are just about finished here, I will miss them until next Spring.

I like the single roses the best as in your last photo. Luckily for us they seem to be the easiest to grow too. I will have to make the trek up to NYBG one of these days. Look forward to seeing your rose watercolor.

Ki, you wont be disappointed if you go the NYBC, it is really wonderful. They also have all kinds of special events on during the year as well.

Love these photos Ruth. When we moved into our home we inherited a rose garden, or should I say rose yard! The previous owner envisioned an English garden...so we are reaping the benefits!

Looks beautiful, Ruth! When I lived in NYC we drove past these gardens a lot but I never got to visit. I sure wish I had! Can't wait to see your new projects. ~ hugs, Lynda ♥

Hi Suzanne, ow, how nice that you inherited a rose garden. When we moved into our house that we purchased back in 95' , the previous owner had lots of plants she left. That is what got me into gardening, I had to take care of what she had left me so I had to learn. I still have some of the plants today..all the Bearded Irises...some of my favorites.

Lynda, ah, too bad you never made it to the gardens..they are so lovely. They also have the coolest special events there all year long.

Hi NG & Melissa, wish I could take a lot of credit for great photographs but all I have is a good eye and a great camera. Very hard to mess up with the digital camera I have, thank goodness because I can now take dependably good photos.
