More Tropical Paradise

With the weather starting to get a bit cold outside and all the plants going dormant for the winter, I thought it would be inspiring and cheerful to post more photos from the NY Botanical Garden , tropical flower show.

Isn't this statue gorgeous? I think this and many of the other photos, would make good paintings. I'll keep them on file and look at them periodically throughout the year, to decide if I would like to create a painting from one of them.

I love Coleus, some of which is pictured above and below. I know Coleus is a great annual but have you ever tried it as a house plant? I have some Coleus in my living room and it is one of my favorite and most prolific plants. They make wonderful house plants and are easy to care for as they have no real requirements other then all the light you can give them. The leaves of course, always make a spectacular show.

This fountain is just beautiful and is always a centerpiece of the display with all the different flower shows throughout the year.
The balcony of the faux house front they had set up, covered with overflowing plants.

Full view of the balcony of the faux house, isn't it just gorgeous. I hope these photos brighten your day and bring you some much needed inspiration.
Stay tuned because I'll be listing my next give away in the upcoming post.

Thanks WG & IT...glad you liked my little gray kitty. I was pleased with him and more or less , he was fun to paint.

I know, this time of year can be so dreary, it's nice to look at something pretty and blooming and green.

Hi Ruth, Pretty photos and I love coleus too in my garden but I can't have them in my house because there isn't a good window. I do love the kitty kat mail box. Really cute. ~ Lynn

Hi Melissa, I'm actually not much of a "tag" person. I did do it once, and only once though (that was my vow) so if anyone wants to read the 6 facts I came up with about myself...go to: my June 8, 2007 post. You can access it from my sections category on the right, it is under (family). : )

Hi Ruth,

I'm glad I stopped by for a visit tonight! It was heart-warming to see all the lush foliage. The fountain is beautiful. And the view of the balcony - talk about gorgeous! That is incredibly inspiring and gives me heart to keep on going through this bitterly-cold winter.

Hope you have a good weekend!

Hi Ki & Kate...ah, a greenhouse is one of my dreams in the upcoming years. I want one very very badly, it sure would make my winter a lot happier let me tell ya.

Although I spent most of the day touring Christmas homes, I loved your tropical getaway. Made me forget the weather outside.

I, too, dream of a greenhouse.
