Winter Hibernation

The above is a typical scene from my living room, one that could be seen 24/7 if you visited my house. Well, that isn't totally true as Dudley, Orchid and Willow would be in different spots at a given time, on any given day but you get the idea. Dudley in the dog bed, Orchid beside him and Willow has jumped onto the couch, knocked the pillow down and made a little bed for himself on it. Winter hibernation has set in at my house......

Even when getting their photos taken, the most movement I seemed to get was a couple of heads being lifted...that was it.

It seems a little unfair and rather hard for me, to have to go into the studio and work during the day when everyone else is lounging around and sleeping all the time. How would anything get done if I sat around like the 3 tzu's do all day long.

I guess I will have to be the one to get up and go be creative while everyone else slumbers the long winter days away.

The framed painting above my couch is a watercolor I painted of Willow and Orchid years ago. This is the unframed photo......what a life, lots of toys and a comfortable place to sleep. I think I might try a little winter hibernation this weekend myself.

How cute! You must include Dudley in the next one. He'll start to feel neglected.

They are adorable! I have been really having to make myself get motivated in the studio this week. Must be the cold weather.

How precious those two are in your painting... living in the lap of luxury, or so it would seem. I love your living room... it appears so pretty and serene. What a really lovely escape.

We pretty much have a similar scene in our home, only difference is one doggy and one cat, I find it comforting to know they are both inside comfortable warm and happy.....never mind about me hot/cold whatever the case maybe and uncomfortable!

Lovely post Ruth

Ah, the dog's life! Ours sleeps the days away too, only getting up to chase a squirrel or eat! (not the squirrel, lol).
Hope you were able to get a little hibernating in this weekend.

Hi Ruth,
Your puppies are so cute! Otis and Riley have been sleeping the days away too.

I love the watercolor painting you did of Willow and Orchid.

It's getting cold here too and I'm ready to hibernate! Hope you have a great day.

Wouldn't it be nice to curl up on a comfy cosy pillow and nap the day away? Sounds perfect to me! I find it difficult to get motivated on these cold days as well.

I'm having a giveaway on my blog so if you have a chance, please stop by!

Oh they are so adorable! My Golden, Maxie sleeps the day away too. Unfortunately he seems to wake up around 5 Pm and is ready to play (just as I'm winding down)!
