A Package From Pug Notes.......

Out of the 3 Tzu's, Willow is the one that always gets cold at this time of the year, some days he looks quite miserable, even inside the house.

My artist friend Melissa Langer over at Pug Notes - www.pugnotes.blogspot.com makes the most wonderful doggies sweaters, in custom colors and sizes.

These photos show Willow sporting his new sweater, both inside and out of the house. The sweater goes on and comes off easily and in addition to being quite fashionable, keeps him warm and happy.

His new sweater helped him go from chilly....to comfy cozy and toasty roasty on these long winter days. If you need a wonderful doggies sweater that is well made and stylish, visit Melissa over at Pug Notes.

Sleepy Winter Days And Some Knitting Experiments

I cannot believe it has been two weeks since my last post...I guess these winter days have everyone in my house, including me, in a funk. You might notice a theme as you look through these photos......are we lazy?? The answer I think, must be no, I guess everyone in my house just knows the value of a good nap now and then. I can never put the sheets on the floor on laundry day before bringing them down to the basement or little Dudley will set himself up for a long nap in them.

A typical lazy scene in the living room.

Simiilar scene except for the fact that everyone has migrated to the dining room, not by choice either, this photo means that I'm currently busy vacuuming the living room carpet and needed to move the dog beg (dogs and all) so I could clean around the spot this bed usually occupies.

While I have felt the urge to curl up on the dog bed and sleep away the rest of winter, I have resisted the desire and instead have been having a lot of fun getting started in knitting. My first two projects were a baby blue scarf and matching fingerless gloves. I've got more to come and I'll keep you posted. Knitting, as I'm finding out, is quite an addictive hobby.

Dudley In The Sheets

The most amazing piece of artwork arrived at my doorstep this past Saturday, this gorgeous portrait of my little Dudley. This beautiful painting was done by the very talented Linda O'Neill over at Abby Creek Art: http://www.abbycreek-art.blogspot.com/ .

You might remember some months ago, I took these photos of Dudley on laundry day. Every time I bring the sheets downstairs, I always throw them in front of the basement door so that the next one to go downstairs can load them into the washing machine. Dudley very frequently makes a bed in the sheets until they are brought down to their final destination.

Linda used my laundry day photos as the inspiration for her pet portrait.

Linda signed, dated and titled this 8" x 8" gallery canvas on the back side. If you haven't seen Linda's beautiful work before, stop by and pay her a visit, you will not be disappointed with her very expressive dog portraits that always capture the beauty and personality of her subjects. Thanks Linda....I will always treasure this piece of artwork from you!!!!

Winter Hibernation

The above is a typical scene from my living room, one that could be seen 24/7 if you visited my house. Well, that isn't totally true as Dudley, Orchid and Willow would be in different spots at a given time, on any given day but you get the idea. Dudley in the dog bed, Orchid beside him and Willow has jumped onto the couch, knocked the pillow down and made a little bed for himself on it. Winter hibernation has set in at my house......

Even when getting their photos taken, the most movement I seemed to get was a couple of heads being lifted...that was it.

It seems a little unfair and rather hard for me, to have to go into the studio and work during the day when everyone else is lounging around and sleeping all the time. How would anything get done if I sat around like the 3 tzu's do all day long.

I guess I will have to be the one to get up and go be creative while everyone else slumbers the long winter days away.

The framed painting above my couch is a watercolor I painted of Willow and Orchid years ago. This is the unframed photo......what a life, lots of toys and a comfortable place to sleep. I think I might try a little winter hibernation this weekend myself.

Happy Thanksgiving From The 3 Tzu's.....

The 3 Tzu's - Dudley, Willow & Orchid want to wish you the happiest of Thanksgivings!!! They also have some really helpful advice to help you make the most of the day....first of all, Orchid says "never take your eyes off that oven door" she theorizes that using this technique will streamline the begging process because you will know the exact moment that the turkey comes out of the oven.

After all that energy that you will expend running around to all the different ends of the table for the turkey treats, Dudley & Willow would like to remind you to "kick back at the end of dinner in a comfy chair and take a nice long nap. " Simply follow these two little guidelines and you should have a very efficient and wonderful day. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Doing Some Porch Sitting

This morning the 3 Tzu's and I took a break from art and instead, waited together on the front porch for a parade to start. Camera in hand , we were waiting to snap a photo of Chris as he marched by.

As you can probably guess, we got outside just a little bit early, hence I turned my camera on the 3 Tzu's so we wouldn't get too bored waiting for the music to start and the people to march by. Dudley and Orchid are looking out in to the street waiting for the action to start.

Orchid decided to get right up into the camera for a super close up.

Willow doesn't see so well but he was really excited to be looking out into the street at all the people passing our house.

Time goes by pretty quickly and no sooner do things start...then they end and the troops now focus on waiting by the door so they can head back in to that nap that I woke them up from to take them onto the porch. The festivities were fun but you know how it is, we all have our priorities in life and a good nap is right up there on the list.

Happy Holidays From The 3 Tzus

During the holiday week, I'll be taking some time off from my blog posts. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. The 3 Tzus just came back from the groomer today sporting their new Christmas bows. This of course made me break out the camera to get some good photos. After plying them with cookies and part of the poppy seed bagel I was eating, I finally got them to look up and pose for me. Happy holidays from:

Dudley

Willow &

Orchid!!!
See you in the new year!!!!!
