Butterfly And African Violets Painting Inspirations

Just yesterday I finished my Butterfly & African Violets painting. This piece was painted with acrylic paint on an ornate vintage ceiling tin.

Lots of my favorite color in this one......PURPLE!

The inspiration for this acrylic painting came from the 4 lovely African Violets I purchased a couple of weeks ago at one of my favorite nurseries. They always have a beautiful selection there, not just African Violets but just about everything. I'll be purchasing the Geraniums for my garden from them later this month and lots of Impatiens from them in the month of May.

Some of the inspirational African Violets in their new home by my Orchids and Maidenhair Fern.

My only delemma was which color plant to use in my ceiling tin painting. I finally settled on the purple and white ones though.......

This piece will be coming to my website and ETSY site www.artfulcreations.etsy.com soon. Enjoy the spring weather and try to look around for something that can inspire you everyday.

Hi Ruth,

Your inspirational African Violets look lovely on the old ceiing tile. Your painting reminds me of a Victorian stain glass window. Your art is always beautiful and I especially like the Violets since they are painted in my favorite color purple.
Have a wonderful creative week.
Blessings,
Erin

Hey Ruth ... hope you had a wonderful Easter.... enjoyed your trip...

I must say ... I love your African Violets... they are a favorite of mine... I too purchased a new one the other day.... I only have two but I am starting a collection for my window sill in my laundry room through the summer and will place them on something else come winter....

On to our painting!!

Very BEAUTIFUL!! I love the way you carried the purple color throughout the tile and also sanded it to give it a shabby look...

Inspiring indeed ... as always

LOTS OF HUGS

What a beautiful painting, Ruth! I love violets but have no luck with them. I think it's all about the lighting. Your violets are SO pretty!

WOW, first of all...I love your Purple Phalaenopsis! It really pops on that black background.

Your new ceiling tin is beautiful too. You obviously had lots of inspiration from your African Violets. Amazing colors. You are the Queen of floral photography!

Hi Ruth, Hope you enjoyed Easter. Your newest painting is simply lovely like all your creations. Beautiful inspiration from your African Violets.
I planted my impatients and geraniums already and they are doing nicely and getting big.
Of course our plant time is slightly earlier then yours. But you have lots to look forward too.
Loved seeing your Purple Phalaenopsis again. Always an inspiration to visit here.
Have a nice weekend, Celestina Marie
