Cheerful Blooms......

As the snow seems to keep falling here in the north east, I'm grateful for my indoor garden to provide lots of cheer and inspiration.

My big white Phalaenopsis that I showed a few posts below, has 8 blooms that have now fully opened. I think this is the most glorious this particular orchid has ever looked. I know it will always be a favorite of mine.

I'm trying little tricks here and there with some of my other orchids to see if I can encourage them to spike as well. Some others in my collection are blooming beautifully right now as well and I will have to show those in another post soon.

I've tried some Amaryllis this winter too and have been loving watching them grow and bloom.

I just got a new batch of Amaryllis bulbs in the mail today, some gorgeous colors. One is called Apple Blossom so you can imagine what that will look like and the other reminds me of my white Phalaenopsis orchid above (I think that is why I ordered it), white with a yellow/green center. Cannot wait to plant them.

These blooms also make great inspirations for a multi canvas painting in the future, Hmm.......

Oh, beautiful, beautiful blooms! You truly have a green thumb, Ruth! I planted an amaryllis late this year (end of Dec.) and it is ready to bloom. Can't wait 'till it opens!

Hugs,
Donna

Amaryllis always amaze me. You can almost see them growing. I'd love to see a painting with one as a subject!

These are stunning! I wish I had more of a green thumb. The only thing I’m able to keep alive is a fern. ;)

Hi Ruth,
WOW coming here and seeing your gorgeous blooms have really lifted my winter time spirits. They are truly beautiful. You certainly have a gift for raising orchids and wonderful window light to place them in.
You have inspirations all around to paint by.
Love this post and thank you for sharing.
Have a great week sweet friend.
Hugs from Texas, Celestina Marie
